The Mermaid and the King is a weaving together of 3 or 4 classic folktales into a new tale with some very modern themes that are as old as the hills.
The Mermaid and the King was performed by Hothouse Theatre for Christmas 2023 and recorded @ The Place in Sherwood just before Christmas 2024 with most of the original cast.
This audio version will be posted on www.mynottz.com in four parts over four weeks … approximately.
Hothouse Theatre will be undertaking more audio projects in the near future and are always on the look out more actors.

Once upon a time, Long, long ago, Somewhere to the west of the land of Nod, there lived a King.
He was a good King... well, at least that’s how the story is normally told.
In fact he was just like every king that has ruled every kingdom since the dawn of time. He was a complete and utter bastard...
Part 1 features: Lily Coombs as Bumbleweed; Dennis Hurd as Snodgrass and Rumpelstiltskin; Guy Jones as the Mermaid; Thulani Mofti as the Narrator; Sheridan Sinclaire as The King and The Salty Sea Dog; Sheila Sly as The Witch of the Mountain.
